The annual remembrance ceremony at Wichita State University’s Memorial 70 sculpture will be held Monday to remember the people who lost their lives in a 1970 plane crash in Colorado.

The ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the sculpture, located at the university entrance at Memorial Drive and Hillside.  There will be a reception following the ceremony in the lobby of the Duerksen Fine Arts Center.  The Shocker ’70 room at 202 Rhatigan Student Center will be open for visitors.

The memorial is held to honor the 31 people, WSU football players, administrators, supporters and flight crew, who died in the crash.   A twin-engine plane was carrying the Shocker football team to a game at Utah State when it crashed in the Rocky Mountains west of Silver Plume, Colorado.
